Jack Booth, one of the co-founders of TON Society, is a firm believer that the key to widespread adoption of cryptocurrency lies in the advancement of decentralization within The Open Network (TON).
In a recent interview with Booth, who leads an organization dedicated to decentralizing finance and data on TON, he revealed to Cointelegraph that the TON community is actively working towards building a decentralized ecosystem. Their goal is to make decentralized finance (DeFi), data, and digital ownership more accessible to a broader audience.
Booth emphasized that decentralized networks offer users greater control over their data and finances without the need for centralized authorities. However, he also warned about the potential threat posed by competing technologies like central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) that could undermine these principles.
While Booth raised concerns about CBDCs compromising decentralization, Sumit Gupta, CEO of CoinDCX, offered a different perspective. Gupta believes that CBDCs and cryptocurrencies can coexist harmoniously and enhance monetary policy.
