Sui blockchain has teamed up with Ant Digital in a groundbreaking collaboration to tokenize real-world assets with a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. These assets, referred to as “notes,” will kick off with a Chinese solar material manufacturer from the Fortune China Top 500 list being listed on the exchange.
Ant Digital’s technology arm, Ant Digital Technologies, which operates the Alipay payment network, will be leading the charge in this partnership. Their brand, ZAN, offers a range of plug-and-play tools designed for the issuance and management of tokenized real-world assets, leveraging the AntChain Open Labs TrustBase open-source technical stack.
Through integration with Sui’s original contributor Mysten Labs, ZAN has become a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) node operator, facilitating seamless communication between networks. Additionally, Sui recently announced its integration with Backpack Exchange and access to the non-custodial Backpack Wallet, solidifying its position in the financial ecosystem.
The concept of regenerative finance (ReFi), which encompasses Web3 ESG, green, and sustainable projects, is gaining traction in the global financial landscape. Green finance initiatives have been a focus for China, as demonstrated by the issuance of tokenized green bonds by the government of Hong Kong as part of its Green Bond Programme.
Energy finance company PowerDime has also introduced a tokenized renewable energy trading platform on the Chintai blockchain, showcasing the increasing intersection of blockchain technology with sustainable finance solutions.
