A recent post by memecoin and stock influencer Keith Gill, known as Roaring Kitty online, has caused a frenzy in GameStop, AMC stocks, and a related memecoin. Gill’s mysterious messages have previously influenced the GameStop short squeeze that took Wall Street by storm in January 2021.
Gill’s latest post on X, shared on December 5, featured a reimagined Time magazine photo illustration, which sparked a surge in GameStop and AMC stocks. GameStop’s shares soared over 16% to $30.87 at one point, prompting a temporary trading halt due to volatility.
Meanwhile, a memecoin called GameStop (GME) saw a 72% increase, reaching $0.007672 following Gill’s post, only to later retreat to $0.006488. AMC Entertainment, a movie theater chain, also experienced a 12% spike to $5.55 during the trading session.
Gill’s social media activity has been closely watched by traders and memecoin enthusiasts since he played a significant role in the GameStop stock saga earlier this year. Despite facing legal challenges regarding his social media influence, Gill continues to captivate the attention of investors with his cryptic posts.
