A groundbreaking crowdfunding platform dedicated to supporting Bitcoin startups has recently been introduced in the United States. This platform aims to connect crypto projects with new funding opportunities, providing a fresh avenue for investors to get involved in the booming cryptocurrency industry.

Launched by Timestamp on Nov. 25, this innovative platform is accessible to both accredited and non-accredited investors. Investors who participate in campaigns on this platform will have the opportunity to acquire ownership stakes in the companies they support, similar to traditional equity investing. According to Timestamp CEO Arman Meguerian, this structure ensures that investors have real equity ownership while remaining fully compliant with regulations.

For startups in the Bitcoin space, this platform offers an alternative to traditional venture capital financing, with a 7% commission on successful campaigns and no upfront fees required. Startups can initiate a “soft launch” by creating a campaign page to generate early interest. Once all legal requirements are met, they can proceed with a full public launch to attract more investors.

Crowdfunding activities, especially those involving equity offerings, are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Timestamp has been registered with the SEC since October 2023, ensuring that all operations comply with regulatory standards.

Meguerian emphasized the platform’s commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance while providing founders with access to a global network of Bitcoin-focused investors. Although the platform is currently limited to investments using fiat currency, Timestamp is actively working on integrating Bitcoin payments to expand funding options for startups in 2025.

As the Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve, with advancements like the Ordinals protocol and the approval of Bitcoin-based ETFs, the interest from institutional investors has fueled the growth of startups focused on innovative solutions within the Bitcoin network. Timestamp’s platform currently hosts five startups working on various Bitcoin-related products, from wallets and payment solutions to a Bitcoin-themed version of Pokemon Go, all contributing to the development of a sustainable Bitcoin ecosystem.

In a market where crypto startups raised $2.4 billion from venture capital firms in the third quarter of 2024, despite a slight decline compared to the previous quarter, the launch of this dedicated crowdfunding platform comes at a pivotal time for supporting innovation within the Bitcoin industry.
