Bitwise, a leading issuer of cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has bold predictions for the year 2025. According to their recent report, at least five “crypto unicorns” are expected to launch initial public offerings (IPOs), with big players like Kraken and Circle leading the charge.
In a comprehensive analysis titled “10 Crypto Predictions for 2025,” Bitwise’s investment chief Matt Hougan and research head Ryan Rasmussen highlighted the key factors that point towards 2025 as the “Year of the Crypto IPO.” These factors include growing investor demand, institutional adoption, favorable macro conditions, and a more positive political environment.
Aside from the IPO announcements, Bitwise’s experts foresee a surge in Bitcoin value, predicting it could reach $200,000 or more by the end of 2025. They even suggested that Bitcoin might surpass gold’s market cap of $18 trillion by 2029.
The report also touches on other cryptocurrencies, such as Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL). Bitwise anticipates Ether to rebound and reach a high of $7,000 in 2025, driven by increased activity on Ethereum’s layer 2 solutions and the growth of stablecoins.
In terms of Solana, the analysts predict a significant price jump to $750, attributing this surge to upcoming developments and projects on the Solana network.
Coinbase, the popular cryptocurrency exchange, is also expected to make waves in 2025. Bitwise forecasts that Coinbase shares will double in value, surpassing traditional brokerage giants like Charles Schwab and earning a spot in the prestigious S&P 500 index.
As the crypto market continues to evolve, Bitwise sees tremendous potential in the tokenization of real-world assets, estimating a market value of $50 billion by 2025. This shift towards tokenization is driven by benefits like instant settlement, increased liquidity, and reduced costs compared to traditional securitization methods.
In addition to these developments, Bitwise also predicts a surge in memecoin popularity, driven by the influence of artificial intelligence tools like chatbots. They expect the stablecoin market to double to $400 billion and foresee regulatory changes in the US that could open up new avenues for investment in cryptocurrencies.
