As Bitcoin experiences a recent pullback to $90,000, onchain data reveals that nearly half of Bitcoin options traders are optimistic about a six-figure price by the end of the year. Some are even eyeing a surge to $150,000, despite the current dip in value.
According to Nick Forster, the founder of an onchain options DeFi protocol, the likelihood of Bitcoin surpassing $100,000 has increased to 45% from last week’s 34%. Additionally, there is a new 4% probability of the cryptocurrency exceeding $150,000.
Forster notes that the high demand for Bitcoin options, particularly calls predicting a price increase, indicates a strong market interest in potential upside gains and downside protection.
Derive data shows that 41.3% of contracts traded were calls, with only 38.3% being puts betting on a Bitcoin price drop. This imbalance suggests that there are very few sellers, pointing towards a bullish sentiment for Bitcoin.
Despite the current price dip to $92,680, down 7.02% from its recent peak, market data suggests that Bitcoin has a 68% chance of retracing to $81,493 or rising to $115,579 by the end of 2024. The data also indicates a 5% chance of the cryptocurrency dropping below $70,000 or reaching as high as $137,645.
While some analysts predict potential pullbacks, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju emphasizes the importance of managing risk and avoiding panic selling during corrections.
As the market continues to fluctuate, prominent crypto analyst PlanC sees the consolidation of Bitcoin in the $90s as a positive sign for the longevity of the current bull market.
In conclusion, while it is essential to conduct thorough research before making investment decisions, the data and insights provided by Bitcoin options traders offer valuable insights into the potential price movements of the cryptocurrency.
